Once inside the fortress, the children will be given a guided tour ( in French or English) of part of the fortress and then allowed to discover some of the secrets for themselves.
This excursion offers some excellent opportunities for experiencing French history. The cathedral, town and gardens are all worth a visit and of course there is the “must-see” and famous Bayeux Tapestry.

The streets are said to be the inspiration for JK Rowling’s Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books and films. Our Group Leaders will give some facts and stories on the coach to whet the appetite, before arriving, when they’ll give a guided tour around those historic and infamous walls.
This excursion is ideal for all age ranges: interesting and fun, dripping with history, and then a chance for souvenir shopping. The magnificent Mont St Michel leaves a lasting impression well after your return from your trip to France.
Ideally linked with a visit to St Malo, St Hilaire du Harcouet or Fougeres to form a full-day excursion.
A visit to Arromanches should always be coupled with the short drive to Colleville-sur-Mer – the site of Omaha beach, made famous by the film “Saving Private Ryan” Musée du Débarquement
Arromanches and the Landing Beaches make an ideal extra visit for those on the Caen/Portsmouth crossing.
Your Group Leader will bring the history of St Malo alive and again this excursion is perfect for all age groups.
